Ash has a WOC protagonist?

If it did it must be so subtle that I missed it even while looking for it.

Because I know I wasn’t the only one confused and miffed that Huntress, the prequel to Ash, took place in an Asian-ish culture that is supposed to morph into the Celtic space of Ash as if the two were commensurable enough for one to turn into the other over the space of a couple of centuries.

Do I misremember?
